2013 Dumpster Day

Our 2013 Dumpster Day will be held on July 13 in the Kingdom Square parking lot (600 Burton St. SE) from 8 am to 12 pm. The event is open to all residents of Garfield Park neighborhood.

Tree planting with Friends of GR Parks

On May 20 from 6-8 pm GPNA will be planting trees in Garfield Park Nature Center. The Friends of GR Parks have generously donated the trees to replace ones cut down due to Consumer's Energy line work.

Fifth Third Harp Refinancing - Do you owe more on your home than it's worth?

A new option for people who owe more than the value of their home. If the value of your home has dropped you might still have an option to refinance through the government’s Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP). And it just got better. Because now, Fifth Third has implemented the new guidelines that increase loan-to-value ratios. Translation: you might be able to refinance, even if you owe more than your home is worth

Installers needed to install free CO & smoke detectors

Healthy Homes and the Garfield Park Neighborhood Association are entering into a collaborative partnership to improve the safety of homes within our area. We need volunteers to make this collaboration work. If you are willing to be a Volunteer Installer of free smoke detectors and free carbon monoxide alarms get involved!

Volunteer Installers go into families’ homes and install smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms. These volunteers share important fire and carbon monoxide safety information with residents as well.

Eligibility:

  • Home must be located in the Grand Rapids area
  • Must have a resident child 5 years of age or younger
  • Both tenants and owners are eligible.
